A large artificial island in Tokyo Bay. It was initially built for defensive purposes in the 1850s, and has developed since the 1990s as a major commercial, residential and leisure area.
Giant Gundam robot statue
The 18-meter-tall Mobile Suit Gundam robot was installed at the site in April 2012. It was removed on March 5, 2017, but the 19.7-meter-tall Unicorn Gundam will appear in Fall 2017.
